MCP 2.0:  Announcing the New (and improved) MasterCare Portal

To make our services more accessible, the MasterCare Portal (MCP) is undergoing a design overhaul, inside and out.  The new page layout reorganizes information to make it more legible and to make it easier to find just the information you need.  The new portal even includes flash-based aids: an overview for all visitors and a series of short tutorials for registered users that introduce all major features of the portal.

The Portal now highlights six major areas reflecting monitored site usage.  The most frequently visited sections appear first in the new design.  The six areas are:

  • The Knowledge Base—this most frequently accessed section appears first.
  • Support Services—the section to open a case or to track a case already opened appears just below the Knowledge Base section.
  • Downloads and Licensing—the link to download software and updates as well as to access product licenses
  • Documentation—access to both the latest technical documentation as well as to legacy information.  This link points to both nGenius as well as to Sniffer documents so that both can be found from a single access point.
  • What’s New—information about the latest releases and the latest documentation to keep users up-to-date
  • Training and Communities—the links to Sniffer University, on-line tutorials, class registration, and the NetScout User Forum.

The right column of Portal Home includes the login section and a quick outline of the special services available to MasterCare customers.  These include:

  • A summary of the MasterCare support services
  • The Quick Reference Guide to MasterCare
  • A sample MasterCare Newsletter and archives of past newsletters
  • Resources and Information—
    • A “suggestion box” to let us know what you think or suggest
    • A tour of the Portal for visitors and short, more targeted tutorials for registered MasterCare customers

The new design makes the Portal easier to read and faster to use for finding the latest information and solutions our MasterCare customers need.

Tell us what you think of the “new MCP”.  The first 25 users who send us some site feedback at support@netscout.com will receive a free tutorial CD, compliments of Sniffer University and the Global Technical Assistance Center (unified GTAC team).
